Internet Explorer Issues
This is just a quick note for folks having issues visiting Lighthouse this week. Apparently a crafty little bug snuck into our code that affected only IE 7.
We really apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. As soon as I heard about it, I jumped in there and fixed the issue. But, it shouldn’t have taken so long for me to hear about it. We have several channels of communication that all broke down for one reason or another:
- The public Lighthouse tracker – boy, it sure doesn’t help when the whole site’s inaccessible, huh?
- The forum – this really should be the fallback. But, I must not have seen the new posts in Bloglines, which seems odd.
- The ActiveReload contact form – This form doesn’t actually email us. We’re not constantly checking it since we’re not usually receiving urgent messages there.
- Regular email – Though, for spam reasons, we don’t exactly advertise this everywhere.
Two steps we’ll be taking right away will be replacing the contact form with a different plugin that actually emails us the contents. That whole decision turned out to be less than ideal. We’re also going to go through and make sure that the public tracker, the forum, and email are all readily available everywhere, especially from the error pages. Again, we apologize for the issues, and hope the rest of your Lighthouse experience has been amiable. Feel free to let us know your thoughts at company@activereload.net.
