A New Consultancy and Lighthouse 2.0

7 comments on 775 words

I’d like to announce something we’ve been working on behind the scenes since our move to Portland in December. Both Justin and I have been hired to work for entp. We’ve been working together for a few months as contractors, but it made sense to take things a step further…

So, what does this mean for you, our Lighthouse and Warehouse customers? Not a whole lot really. We’ll continue to operate in mostly the same fashion. If anything, joining with ENTP means we’ll have stocked Bawls, more help answering questions, and the ability to bring on another developer to roll out updates much faster for Lighthouse and Warehouse.

Lighthouse 2.0

Speaking of improving things, we’re putting some brand new hotness into Lighthouse. We’ve been working hard bringing some much requested features to Lighthouse, including a complete overhaul of the design. Here are just a few features we’ve already implemented:

  • Ability to sort pages and ticket bins
  • Share ticket bins across an account or project
  • Color themes and logos, which means more focus on your brand
  • Custom ticket states similar to Google code with the added abililty to assign each state a custom color to help you identify it in the ticket list and event timeline.
  • User event timelines: The user pages are no longer boring.

Lighthouse 2.0

We’re planning on rolling out this update within the next couple weeks. We’ll roll out a major overhaul over this weekend (more on this as soon as I get more info from our gracious host), and then we’ll incrementally roll in the remaining features. We’re super excited about this release and what it means for our customers and our continued focus on Lighthouse.

Open Source Gets A Free Ride

As strong believers in Open Source we’re proud to announce that we’re going to be giving free projects to all Open Source Software in the very near future! This is something we’ve always wanted to do since day one and have previously accommodated Open Source projects who’ve emailed us. We’re now in a position to give our full support to OSS, largely thanks to our very awesome hosting provider and sponsor Engine Yard and our recent merger with ENTP.

Here are just a few awesome projects who will be joining us or have already joined us here at Lighthouse:

This means we’ll be rolling out some community features such as OSS project database, search OSS projects, public member profile pages, and more.

And finally, in addition to the OSS news for Lighthouse, we’re talking about releasing Warehouse as Open Source. We’re still tossing around the idea, so we’ll have more on this later.

Update your Feeds

Exciting things to come and we’re really looking forward to the future. With that in mind, we hope that you’ll update your feeds to point to our new blog over at our Hoth Blog. If you have any question about your accounts with us or anything else about our joining with our friends at ENTP, please shoot us an email to company@activereload.net and we’ll get back with you.

Just the other day I was wishing that I could share my tickets bins. And the new user pages looks like a great way to get an overview of a team members activity. Two very useful features!

And congrats with the merger, can’t wait to see what comes of it.

Looking forward to it! I have a couple of wishes, it’s quicker to resolve tickets and quicker to roll-over tickets to a new milestone if you want to delete the one they are currently assigned to.

Right now running my open source project issue tracking on your sites, so I’m looking forward to see the benefits of the new version (especially for open source projects). One of my wishes is to be able to share (or export) tickets tagged “bug” to my project home page, where users could directly see what bugs are open, resolved, etc.
